Here is some reasons why summer is a great time to have your senior portraits done.

1. Schedule

Summertime, no school, and beautiful weather is a great time to get your senior portraits done. Honestly, this gives more options for you, once school is in session and you are probably working or have extra activities after school as well and makes it very limited for when you are available. Another thing that doesn’t help is once September and October come around we have shorter days, sunset times get earlier and earlier.

2. Locations

Outdoor locations are the best in the summer. It might be hot but we schedule our portrait sessions only first thing in the morning or in the evening for that golden hour. So many outdoor locations are available beaches, parks, fields with flowers. Think about your favorite spot to hang out, that could be your location choice.

3. Lighting

The summer sun is powerful and beautiful. Senior portrait sessions are scheduled for morning or evenings only, which is to capture you only in the best type of lighting. Photography is all about lighting and knowing how to read it. Golden hour only happens once a day, those sessions book fast.

4. Colors

Why does color matter? The same reason why you don’t wear certain colors, not every color works for everyone. Summer colors are cool tones. Certain colors make your features pop and help bring out your beauty. Everyone has different skin tones, eye color, and hair color this all affects what looks best on you. Summer has a variety of colors that you can wear during this season. All of this is important in creating the best images.

5. Weather

We understand how hot it can be during the summer and that is why our outdoor sessions are morning or evening. The weather is not cold leaving you with more options on what to wear. Your wardrobe can be fun with maxi dresses, cute rompers, or simply with jeans and a t-shirt. There is no limitation in summer with what you wear. The biggest thing is to remember you don’t have to dress for the season you can dress in what you like to wear. We still recommend for the males to wear pants or jeans, please no shorts.
