Dancers and Photographers all in Phoenix for one weekend.
In the middle of winter, I flew to bright sunny Phoenix, Arizona for the first time. Surrounded by very tall palm trees, cactus, beautiful archways, and massive water fountains. This is where I got to stay for my weekend adventure at the Arizona Grand Resort and Spa. The reason for my trip was to attend Pas De Deux photo conference. There were photographers from all over the world and very talented dancers. We got to photograph these dancers and learn from the very best dance photographers out there.
The Conference started with a beautiful sunrise photoshoot at Prima Canyon. I kept finding myself gazing at the sunrise instead of photographing the dancers.
I connected with so many great photographers over the weekend. We shared tips and tricks. We attended classes, did photo walks and learned a lot. I was lucky enough to have portfolio review with Rachel Neville, if you have never heard of her you need to look her up!!! She taught me how to better my dancer portraits, I will never look at a dancer image the same way again.
We had a little downtime and another photographer asked if I wanted to join him and a dancer (with permission) to go to the mall for some fun Jordan Matter inspired looks.
Did I mention there was also a rain machine!!!
This was only the first year for the Pas De Deux photo conference and it was amazing. I might just have to go again next year!!!
